Mini-Me

So mommy went to see the doctor on Monday and they got to look at my little brother/sister to be. Mommy and daddy aren't finding out the sex of the baby, so we now play the waiting (and guessing) game! Here's a couple snapshots of my future playmate in 3D.... daddy thinks this little one looks alot like I did when I was born!

Actually....

At a little over 3 years old now, it seems that my favorite word is "actually". I use it all the time, usually when disagreeing with someone or presenting another idea. I don't even really need to use that many words! For example:
(mom) "Hey Lauren, why don't we go upstairs and take a bath?"
(me) "Actually, how about not?"

Mommy and daddy's good friends the Smiths came in town a couple weeks ago and visited us. It was super fun having them here and I loved hanging with little Emerson. She is only a few months old but it gave me good practice at having a baby in the house...especially the part where mommy hushes me all the time when the baby takes a nap! I'm not used to having to alter my ways for another little one, but I did pretty well.

On the Smith's blog, they posted a description of me that mommy thought was pretty darned accurate. Here it is:

Lauren Kubik is a cute ball of energy, whose command of the word "Actually" is impressive and pervasive throughout her speech. Most sentences (especially after you give her a command) begin with, "Actually...[insert rationale for why she doesn't want to do whatever you just told her to]". She is also a connoisseur of shoes and the color pink. And she was kind enough to let Jeff have one of her fudge pops for breakfast after insisting for a while that "Boys aren't allowed to have popsicles". And she was kind enough to read "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" to Emerson. The cuteness factor was very very high.

Why thank you, thank you very much!

Big Ham

I wanted to goof around with mommy's camera yesterday, so we took a bunch of pictures together. I wanted to keep going and going and going...but only a few were deemed "keepers" by mommy.

Lauren's Hair Salon

The other evening I set up shop and started my own hair salon. Daddy was my first client, and he was impressed at my "tools", as well as my outfit (my own creation from the Disney princess collection). I'm now scheduling appointments for anyone interested!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone! This year I've been VERY interested in Easter and have enjoyed learning all about how Jesus died on the cross for my sins, but then rose up and went to Heaven. What a miracle! Thank you, God, for sending Jesus to be our Savior!!!

(PS - Enjoy these photos from a little "Easter Photo Shoot" mom did last week in CA)

Fish Out of Water

I really, really loved swimming last week in California. Here are a few videos of me "doing my thing" in the water. You can see that at first daddy didn't let me jump too far into the pool, but he quickly (under mommy's instruction) allowed me to "let it fly". My mimi also discovered that I'm tall enough to stand up in the shallow end of the pool, so there's also a video of me "bopping" along. I quickly grew accustomed to this and bounced around day after day, back and forth even without mommy or daddy. There are advantages to being in the 99% for height!!
