Camera Happy

Today in the car, I was quite the performer for mommy. She got a few pictures of me hamming it up. Speaking of pictures, mommy just posted new pictures from the last couple months - find the links on the right!

Stein Erikson Lodge

This is a fun week. Grandma Mary and Grandpa Dennis are in town to visit, and in a few days Aunt Maggie and Uncle Andrew will be here. I'm so excited to play with everyone!

Yesterday we drove up to Park City and did some window shopping, and then we went to the Stein Erikson Lodge for dinner. I've been there before with Nana K and Papa J, but the weather was so cold and wet that we didn't go outside. Yesterday it was sooo pretty and I really loved running around the lawns and big outdoor decks. Plus they have world famous hamburgers, so we all ate those to cap off a really fun day!

Arranged Marriage

Sam and me were best buddies tonight. I followed him around screaming and giggling, and we held hands wherever we went. I kept hearing the adults say something about "arranged marriage" for their two little sweethearts.... could that have meant me and Sam?

The Salt Lake Bees

Mommy and daddy have one couple friend here in Utah. Their names are Ben and Alison, and they are from Kansas City originally. They are both KU graduates (which automatically means they are cool in my book), and Ben even played baseball at KU. The best part about Ben and Alison? They have a son, Sam, who is 3 and I ADORE him.

Tonight they invited our family to the Salt Lake Bee's game. Since Salt Lake City doesn't have a "big" baseball team (major league), the big rage out here is the minor league team. The stadium has a super pretty view, a big park for kids, and a choo-choo train that I got to ride on.

Tonights game started at 7pm, which is after my normal bedtime...so I'm looking pretty tired in these pictures!

Little Miss Talkative

I'm all about talking lately. Mommy and daddy were so impressed with my words these past few weeks that they made a list of what I know how to say, and I know SIXTY THREE words! Mommy and daddy figured that about 38 those I say without prompting on a daily (or semi-daily) basis. The other words I can repeat or say if I see a picture or flashcard.

My big surprise last week was when I was watching Uncle Andrew cook last week from my highchair, and suddenly just started saying "Andrew" - out of the blue! Everyone was pretty impressed. (Little did they know I'd been working on this word in my crib at night)

Mommy got a video of my new word, and also me saying ALL my aunts and uncles names.

Bed Head and Crazy Faces

This morning when mommy was trying to take pictures of my bed head for daddy, I started to make very funny faces whenever she turned the camera on me. If she put the camera down, I begged her to pick it back up, but when she said "smile" - I turned my face into something quite fierce. Click here to see the series of photographs I took. (Warning: make sure you are not drinking any liquids when you view these, as they might end up all over your computer screen)

Bubbles Galore

Well, I'm back in Denver now. Its so good to be home for a week. I love seeing my grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. On Saturday night we went to see a concert in a park, and they had this really cool bubble-making machine. I ran around for almost an hour completely entertained, grabbing at the air and screaming "bubble!!!!!!!!!!!!". It was really fun, as the pictures show.

"Aunt" Ashley

Mommy's friend Ashley came to visit this week from Texas. It is the third time she has visited mommy since I was born, so I'm getting to know her quite well! Ashley has a nephew a few months older than me, so we call her "Aunt Ashley" and I love that she knows all the games I like to play. I had alot of fun with Ashley and here are some pictures of us before we took her to the airport. I had so much fun that I zonked out as soon as we dropped her off! Thanks for coming to visit, "Aunt Ashley"!

Up to No Good

Here is my latest accomplishment, which I achieved a couple days ago when daddy turned his back for a few seconds.

Superfan

This past weekend mommy, daddy and I drove up to the University of Utah campus to see a Real Salt Lake soccer game (they are the major league soccer team in our area). Mommy got free tickets and thought it might be a fun family adventure. We sat right behind the fan club, which ended up being fantastic because their shouting, chanting, dancing and drum playing kept me very entertained. I was a total angel baby, sitting patiently on mommy's lap for the entire first half (a full hour!) bundled up in a blanket, sucking my thumb. We stayed until halftime, which was 8pm, two full hours past my bedtime. But I behaved beautifully and it further cemented mommy and daddy's view that I'm the BEST baby around.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Its been so rainy here in Salt Lake City. The past two days I haven't even been able to play outside, even for 5 minutes! Good thing mommy bought me this cute raincoat so I don't get soaked when we are doing errands.

Splash Pool

About a block from our house in our new neighborhood, there is a splash pool that I just love to play in. I can walk in by myself and the deepest it gets is just over a foot high, so its perfect for me. Mommy or daddy still have to follow behind me in the deep parts because I've been known to dive headfirst into the water with no warning, but I always look forward to playing the water and watching other kids frolic all around me. Here's a few shots of our trip to the splash pool from yesterday.
