My Favorite Word

This is pretty much how mommy's conversations go with me lately. Good thing I'm such a happy kiddo and my attitude doesn't reflect what I'm saying!

Guess What? Salt Lake has parks, too!

This morning mommy took me out to a park near our home. There was a group of women from the club MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) that mommy found and they were having a playdate today at the park. Mommy wanted to try to meet new friends so we went, and I had alot of fun. We met nice mommies and kids.

Even though I've lived in 3 different cities in the past 9 months, I like that mommy and I can always find a park to swing at. It makes life seem more normal for both of us.

Fun with Nana and Papa

Well Nana and Papa went back to Chicago yesterday, but I'm still walking around the house looking for them. We had so much fun together. We are going to Chicago for the 4th of July and I can't WAIT to be with them again. Above is a picture that mommy took this weekend - I'm "previewing" the 4th of July outfit that Nana bought me. Isn't it cute? Also, I managed to get "Denver Duck" and my monkey in the picture with us - I don't go anywhere without them!

Reunited...and it feels so good!

After a LONG, LONG time being apart (two whole months!), I'm getting to spend this weekend with Nana K and Papa J, who are visiting us in Salt Lake City. I have been having SO much fun. We are up to all of our old tricks...singing, dancing, reading books, taking walks. It is wonderful to be together again.

Nana K brought me an assortment of things in her suitcase. She brought along some of my "friends" (mommy calls them stuffed animals?) that I play with in Chicago alot, like my favorite duckie. She also brought me some gifts to open. Mommy captured some great shots of my posing with my loot.

Salt Lake Livin

Well, its official. Daddy, mommy and I are now residents of Utah. We moved into our new house all day today so I guess there's no turning back now. Because mommy and daddy were so busy with the movers today, I kindof had to create my own fun. My favorite activity today was crawling, rolling and jumping in the packing paper. It entertained me for at least 20 minutes (which is a looong time in baby time). Mommy got a few pictures of my fun.

Our house is nice. Its alot smaller than our house in Denver but I think I'll have fun here - there are lots of parks nearby and I have a big backyard to romp around in. I hope my family and friends come visit so they can see my stomping grounds.

Just Ducky

Its been a busy few days as mommy has been busy getting ready for our big move. Its hard to believe its time for us to leave for Salt Lake already. My Aunt Maggie has been helping out and keeping me out of mommy's hair, and the other day she took me to the children's museum. A balloon artist made me this inflatable duck (ducks are my favorite) and I've been wearing it around my waist and "quacking" ever since!!

15 Month Update

Yesterday we went to the doctor for my 15 month appointment. I am growing so fast! I'm now 21.5 lbs and 30.5 inches long. That puts me in between the 25-50% for each of those markers. I impressed the doctor with my interest in books (see pictures) and all the words that I showed off for him. I also got a couple vaccines which wasn't so fun - but I recovered quickly.

Other fun things I'm doing at 15 months:
Saying LOTS and LOTS of words
Running (not just walking)
Hugging everyone (even strangers)
Combining words (bye bye, dada)
Starting to use a spoon by myself to eat
I'm obsessed with books

My last update is that this week I got my upper molars - VERY big news. Its been really hurting me, but its worth it because its just another sign I'm growing up into a big girl!

Fake Out

This past weekend as a "gift" to mommy for her mother's day present, my Aunt Maggie and Uncle Andrew babysat me all day on Saturday. They took me to a Gymboree class where we all pretended that they were my mommy and daddy. We had so much fun - Uncle Andrew even taught me how to shoot a basketball in a hoop! My grandpas would all be so proud!

Mothers Day - Take 2

Today was the 2nd Mothers Day that mommy has enjoyed since she had me. We went to the zoo again (last year in Lincoln Park, Chicago...this year the Denver Zoo). It was so fun to see all the animals. After the zoo and a short nap, we went over to my aunt's house for a family barbeque to celebrate all the mommies in the family. It was a perfect day!

Mommy and Me

Mommy and I almost never get pictures together. She's always the one taking the pictures. But today daddy got some of us clowning around - its about time, since she's 99% of my entertainment every day!

Fox Creek Elementary

My aunt Maggie teaches 5th grade at Fox Creek Elementary school, which is only about a mile from my house. So mommy takes me over there once a month to visit, and its one of my favorite things to do! I LOVE LOVE LOVE looking at the big kids, and they are so fun! They sing me Barney songs and crowd around me and giggle...in general, they just dote on me and think my every action is adorable.

School is about to go on summer break so mommy took me over there on Wednesday. It was recess so all the girls wanted to play with me. They ran around, sang me songs, and quickly plucked me up whenever I fell down. I'll miss them alot this summer.
