It's Potty Time

I've been working with mommy on becoming potty-trained, and its been going pretty well! After only a day of practicing, I started peeing on the potty all by myself. I rarely have accidents and am really good about telling mommy and daddy when I need to go potty. Going poopy on the potty has remained a bit perplexing for me, so I'm holding out on that one for now, but mommy is working on it with me constantly and I know I'll be brave enough to do it soon. For now, though, mommy loves that she doesn't have to buy diapers anymore and I'm liking my big-girl panties alot!

First Day of School

I started preschool today. I did great with the dropoff and (for once) fully cooperated in mommy's picture taking! I was so brave and didn't even cry when mommy left..just gave her a big hug, kiss, and an "I love you, momma!" Mom already misses me like crazy, but knows I'll be having fun with my new friends and sweet teachers.

Chicago Lovin'

On our way home from the lake, mommy and daddy decided to leave the evening before our flight and stay the night in Chicago before our departure. I guess they just don't trust that Sunday afternoon Chicago traffic when 3 plane tickets are on the line! So we drove in late Saturday night and stayed at Nana and Papa's condo in the city. We got up in the morning and had time to run to the park and take a nice walk...followed by a quick nap before we had to leave for the airport. Not only was it a beautiful day in Chicago, but mom and dad introduced me to Portillo's on the way to the airport...now THAT is a hot dog! I had fun in Chicago and look forward to our next trip to the Windy City!

Nature Walks

One of my favorite things to do in Michigan was to take Nature Walks every day. I loved all the things I found in the woods (leaves, acorns, flowers, walking sticks), although usually I would get tired and end up getting a lift from dad.

Family Pictures

Just a few pictures of our family during our time at the beach...

Miniwanca

Right up the road from the house in Michigan is the summer camp that is dear to mommy's entire family. Mimi (mommy's mommy) and all her brothers went there, and my mom and her sisters grew up going there. Its called Miniwanca, and on this trip we spent one morning there to see my second-cousin Emily at her closing ceremonies (3 generations have now attended!). I LOVED running around the camp, and was able to sit for a full HOUR at the closing ceremony, entranced by all the singing and chanting and cheers of the campers. Mommy and daddy even bought me a Miniwanca sweatshirt! Best of all, in just a matter of days I have memorized the Miniwanca "theme song" and sing it almost daily, even now that I'm home. I think a summer at Miniwanca is in my future!!

Beach Babe

I had a blast playing on the beach last week. I spent most of my time running in and out of the water, playing with sand toys or chasing the 3 doggies as they ran (and swam!) all over the place. I even ate my lunches at the beach. As always, the dogs kept close watch over me. I'm definitely a beach babe!

Smores!

At 2 1/2 years old, I officially made my first smore on the Michigan shoreline, at sunset naturally!! As always, mom made sure the moment got captured. The woman documents EVERYTHING!

Pa's Pedicures

While in Michigan, Pa and I took a little break to sit out on the back deck so he could give me a luxurious pedicure. He's quite good at painting my tiny toenails, and has quite the steady hand. True to my genetics though (MOM), I am a bit type-A about the whole thing and inspect his work closely for any flaws.

Michigan

I just got back from my first-ever trip to Little Point Sable, a small place right on the beach in Michigan where mommy's family has a house. Mommy grew up spending her summer vacations at LPS, and it was so fun for her to see me frolicking on the very same beaches. I had a TON of fun and experienced lots of new things...but for now I'll leave you a preview of some of the fun I had. More to come soon!
