Aunt Seesa

Aunt Lisa has come down to Denver to visit twice this month, and I'm really starting to bond with her! On a recent family shopping trip at REI, I would have nothing to do with mommy or daddy and insisted on being glued to Aunt Lisa's side. At lunch following, I wouldn't let mommy sit by me, insisting that "I want Aunt LEESA to sit here mom, not you!" Hey...she spoils me rotten and has promised to teach me to ski...how can I resist??

Whose Child is This?

We went to a party at Aunt Maggie's house the other day, and mommy brought 6 diapers in her diaper bag. Unfortunately Luke had other plans, and blew out 2 outfits and all 6 diapers in 3 short hours. Therefore we packed up the car and headed home... but poor Luke was stuck with a cloth diaper (which mommy had been using as a burpcloth) secured with packing tape. Nice, mom.

Luke Meets the (Grand) Parents

Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay came to visit last weekend to meet Luke and spend some time with me. I love Grandma and Grandpa so much and it was so fun to see them. Like everyone else, they loved meeting my brother and spent a bunch of time cuddling and loving on him. Here's a few pictures from their visit...

First Bath

Brother enjoyed his first real bath, although since this picture has been taken he usually now bathes with me in the tub. He loves the water and seems quite happy at bathtime...quite the change from my first baths, according to mommy and daddy!

Busy Bees

Sorry I've been away from the blog... We've had many visitors in town to meet Luke, so I've been busy entertaining them (all he does is sleep, poop, eat and cry a little - so I've kept everyone entertained with my antics!).

In between visitors, we've been doing our best to lay low and just enjoy time as a family of four. I'm still enjoying Luke immensely and amaze mommy and daddy with what an awesome big sister I am. (by the way, I should brag about my brother that he's been sleeping 10pm-4am for about a week now, then eating and going back to bed until 8am - my little brother obviously learned about being a good sleeper from me!)

Just a Trim

The other day I went in to get a little trim for my hair. I had fun but it was over all too quickly. Mommy hadn't even paid before I was asking when I could come back. My brother, of course, celebrated his first trip to the hair salon by doing this the whole time:

Protector

Lately I've been quite focused on daddy and the fact that he protects our family. The other day I declared to mommy out of the blue that "daddy protects us from ants, bees, flies, alligators, bears and snakes" (quite the range of animals!) My new favorite thing is, in the middle of a normal conversation, butting in to talk about daddy protecting me. It usually goes something like this.
(daddy) "And so today at work, my boss called and..."
(me) "Daddy, excuse me daddy"
(d) "Yes Lauren"
(me) "Daddy, tell me what you would do with an alligator"
(d) "Well, you see with an alligator, I would first jump on its back. Then I would grab its nose, shut its mouth, punch it in the eye, open the trash can, sit on top of it, and then glue the top on the garbage can."
(me) "Dad, when would the trashman come?"
(d) "I'd call him right away and tell him to come over. Then he'd take away the alligator"
(me)(turning to mom) "See mommy, daddy ALWAYS protects us"
