PlayDoh

My first experience with PlayDoh kept me busy in my highchair for over 2 hours straight! Mommy loooooved that!

Springtime in January, Baby Love and Pinkeye

The good news first or the bad?? I'll just start out with the bad. Out of the clear blue sky this week, I woke up from a nap a complete mess. A quick trip to the doctor gave us our answer: double pinkeye and an ear infection. YUCK! Luckily it was a bacterial infection, so I was sooo much better after only one dose of antibiotics!

The good news? Its been gorgeous here in Denver! Blue, blue skies, sunshine and temps in the upper 60s and low 70s for the past week. Christmas in July? How about springtime in January! Yesterday I spent a good two hours in the backyard doing nothing in particular but staying so busy! Jumping, running, throwing my ball, and my favorite: talking and playing with my baby doll. Check out the videos mommy took of my hilarity.

Best Buds

I've really been missing my friend Sam in Salt Lake City. His picture is on our bulletin board and I always point to it and say "Where's Sam?". I hope we'll be reunited soon. In the meantime, I've been having tons of fun getting re-acquainted with my friends in Denver. During the week I hang with my playdate buddies, but on the weekends I hang with my BFF Ashleigh (she's in daycare during the week so I dont see her as much). Our mommies have been trading "free time" on Saturdays, and I've had a BLAST each weekend with Ashleigh. Here we are at Ashleigh's house last weekend up to our usual antics (sorry for the bed-head... we did an early morning trade!)

Uncle Jon

My Uncle Jon has been visiting Colorado this week and he's been staying at our house. Its extra special to see Uncle Jon because he lives in New York City, and mommy tells me that's pretty far away. I usually only get to see him on holidays, so having him here living with us is so fun! As you can tell, I'm wayyy into Uncle Jon!

Polite

Of all my fabulous, endearing qualities, mommy and daddy think that one thing stands out: how polite I am. They've worked with me alot on being polite, and besides my hair color :), this is the thing people comment to mommy about the most. About 95% of the time, I always say please, thank you, thanks, and no thanks. In addition, if someone falls down, I ask "you okay?" and during the move, I was constantly advising "Be Careful, Daddy" when he was moving boxes! Mommy and daddy are proud of me and what a well-mannered young lady I'm becoming.

Always Swinging

I've always loved swinging, but lately I've had quite the obsession. We got to go to the park in Kansas City when I was there (pictures above), and this week in Denver it was 60 degrees out, so I've been to the park near our house almost every day. I would swing for an hour if I could, but mommy always makes me get out so other kids can have a turn. I will never turn down a trip to the park!

Kansas City

As I mentioned last week, I went to Kansas City for the first time over the holidays. My mommy grew up in KC so she was excited to take me there, and man did I have fun! I mostly enjoyed playing with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay, but I also have two step-cousins, Audrey and Simone, who I got to play with. Truth be told, I mostly just followed them around all the time - I love older girls!! Grandma Kay even knit us matching sweaters for Christmas - so fun!

Bed Head

Bode Miller, Watch Out

Given my near obsession with Uncle Nathan's ski boots and wanting to try them on every 5 minutes, I think I might be destined to ski! Good thing my aunts and uncles are so good at skiing, since mommy and daddy say they have almost no interest in teaching me!

Cousin Anna

Last time we were together in California last April

A bit bigger now!

I got to see my Aunt Laura, Uncle Matt and cousin Anna when I was in Chicago for Christmas. It was so much fun! I hadn't seen Anna in about 9 months (!) and she's a real cutie. Mommy and Aunt Laura tried to get a picture of us together, but that would have required both of us to slow down..and we are busy-bodies!! I can't wait to see them again in May when they come visit Colorado.

Cheap Thrills

My mostest-favorite gift of the holidays? This stroller that mommy got me for my dolls (I have two...named "Baby Kate" and "Baby Sister" - I chose these names totally on my own without suggestion from mommy or daddy). I push it EVERYWHERE (and I mean everywhere!). The best part? I think it only cost mommy $7.99!

Whew!

Well THAT was a fun Christmas! 3 families, 3 cities in 7 days... and of course lots of attention and presents for little ol' me. We did end up making it to Chicago a day late but I was so excited to see Nana and Papa that I quickly forgot how yucky it was to get there. We were in Chicago for 4 days and then flew to Kansas City to see Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay. It was my first time to visit them in KC, so another "first" was accomplished in my life. Even though the airlines lost our bags for the first day of our trip, I still had lots of fun meeting new members of my family and playing with Grandma and Grandpa.

My grandparents, aunts and uncles (and SANTA) must think I'm great because they gave me lots of gifts. Among the highlights: a shopping cart with food in it, a Cabbage Patch doll and baby stroller, LOTS of lipstick (mom calls it Chapstick) and a fun dollhouse. I also got pots and pans to cook with and awesome clothes and bath toys. I'm quite entertained with my new toys!

Here are a couple highlights from our trip!
