Its all in the details...

I think I've mentioned before (not to brag or anything, but....) I'm a pretty good talker. My parents, grandparents and aunts/uncles are constantly amazed at the things that come out of my mouth. (One recent gem: I told my nana "If I don't poop on the potty soon, I'll never forgive myself!")

The only imperfect part of my verbal skills is that I tend to substitute an "F" when there is a "th" sound in a word. The results are pretty cute.

Pictures, Pictures

Before the holidays, mommy and daddy took me to a park where we got our pictures taken by Kelli Nixon of Kelli Nixon Photography. Kelli was soooo nice and I had lots of fun. Mommy had a hard time choosing the final picture for our Christmas card... You'll see that she had some good shots to choose from!

You can view our pictures here, or find the link on the right hand side of my blog. Speaking of the blog, I did some much-needed updating of our pictures. The bad news is, you can no longer access pictures of my birth on this blog....the good news is, mommy is only keeping links to recent pictures up, so you won't get so bored!

Winter Wonderland

The day after Christmas, we woke up to a beautiful snowstorm right outside our window at Nana's house. It snowed....and snowed....and snowed alllll day! About 14 inches later, we went outside and enjoyed the snow as a family.... I was in heaven! I even got to practice my specialty face-down snow angel, on the driveway, no less! It truly was a winter wonderland!

Christmas, Take Three (Chicago)

On Christmas morning, mommy and daddy woke me up and I was thrilled to see that Santa had visited my house! I had been such a good girl for the past month with my new "Elf on the Shelf", named Elfin, watching over my every move and reporting back to Santa my good deeds. Santa definitely spoiled me!

We quickly opened a few presents and then hopped in the car to get to the airport. It was off to Chicago!

I quickly fell asleep on the airplane.... along with daddy.

Upon arrival in Chicago, I was sooo excited to get to my Nana's house...it truly was a winter wonderland!! Plus, it was time for more presents! I was extra thrilled with my new satin gloves just for tea time - thanks Nana!

Christmas, Take Two (Denver)

We got back from Aspen and had a 48 hour turnaround before our trip to Chicago. While mommy unpacked and repacked us, daddy and I got in some good playtime while he was off of work. Aunt Laura and Uncle Matt, cousin Anna plus her new baby sister Elsie were visiting Denver and stayed at our house. Anna and I are only 6 months apart and we had a blast together...mostly fun...a few toy scuffles, but not too bad!

On Christmas Eve, my Mimi and Pa hosted the entire Hicks/Grubb/Marotta side of the family for an awesome dinner party. I even got to open a few gifts early!!

As always, mom took the opportunity to get a 4 generation picture with me, mommy, Mimi and Great Grandma Shirley.

Canine Abuse

Aunt Lisa and Uncle Andy's dog, Hatch, was very patient with me when I was in Aspen. I made it my personal mission to play with him and put him in all sorts of strange positions. Luckily he handled it like a champ...just sat there and took it! (I'm actually doing him a favor, preparing him for all the harrassment he'll get when Ryder is a toddler in a couple years!)
