Intermission

I feel like we are in intermission because I'm still sick. Life is NOT fun with a stuffy nose! Much to mommy and daddy's dismay, my schedule (eating/sleeping) has been thrown out the window while they try any and all tactics to make me feel better. Its hard to sleep and suck my thumb with a full nose, so I'm pretty irritable and fussy. Please say a prayer for me!

So since today is no fun, I wanted to remember a happier time - this weekend, when we had a pool party. I swam with daddy for the first time. Despite my face in this picture, I had alot of fun. Daddy holds me tight and gives me extra kisses when we swim.

Sick

Well, I've reached a milestone, but this one isn't so fun. I'm sick for the first time. I woke mommy and daddy up at 4:45am with my stuffy nose, and all day long I've been MISERABLE because I can't breathe! When I cry and try to calm myself down by putting my thumb in my mouth, I can't breathe and then I get REALLY worked up. In fact, I only napped once today - holy cow!

Keep your fingers crossed that I feel better soon. Because if Baby Lauren ain't happy...noone's happy!

Strollin' Around

My Aunt Laura and Uncle Matt bought me a new stroller that mommy has been coveting for months. Its super-light and much easier for mommy to drag in and out of the car. This Saturday, mommy, daddy and I tested it out by going to the local street festival near our town. We strolled around, listened to music and played in the grass together.

On the Move

Our house is on the market and mommy only got 15 minutes notice we were going to have a showing, so she plopped me down on a blanket with some toys and scurried around to get the house ready. When she came to get me, this is what she found. Yes - I'm officially scooting. I'll admit that its only backward, but its still a big step for me! Yesterday I previewed it for mommy but she thought it was a fluke. Not so much!

When she set me down, I was in the middle of the blanket and all the toys were physically on the blanket. Quite a different scene when she returned.

Life is about to get sooo much more interesting!

Fun with Corduroy

Today I picked up Corduroy Bear out of my basket of stuffed animals, and I had SO much fun with him. Mommy was almost crying laughing when she took this video - check it out! Me and Corduroy

Showered With Love

Yesterday mommy and some friends hosted a shower for my Aunt Laura, who is due on Sept. 22 with my future best cousin girlfriend. We will be 6 months apart just like mommy and Laura are!

Look at me Grow!

I went to see my friend Dr. Kaufman again for my 6 month checkup. It was so much fun! I weigh 14 lbs 12 oz (30th percentile) and I'm 26 1/2 inches long (75th percentile). I'm still long and skinny...but did you really need a doctor's visit to prove that? Just look at my pictures!

Six Months

Today was my six-month birthday!!! I didn't think it was such a big deal, but daddy and mommy kept saying things like: "six months ago at this very moment, mommy was in labor with you." And at 2:51pm they gave me big kisses as they remembered my arrival.

The first 6 months of my life have been the best ever...mommy and daddy agree!!

Real Food at Last!

Last night mommy and daddy finally tried feeding me some "solids". Oatmeal cereal, however, is pretty runny and not all that solid. Here's a couple pictures of me enjoying the meal. Most of it ended up on my clothes and chin, but I've already practiced again today and am MUCH better!

Back Together Again

Mommy is back from her girls weekend in Texas, and we were very excited to see each other again. She gave me kisses and I ate her face...just like old times. Daddy did SUCH an amazing job taking care of me this weekend - we are even closer now than we used to be.

5 minutes after mommy got home, here we are cuddling on the couch together.

Meet the (Grand) Parents

Grandpa Bill and Grandma Kay were in town this week to visit, and I thought I'd show you how much fun I had with them. In the coming weeks, I'll also make it a point to introduce you to my other grandparents, as well as all my aunts and uncles. I've got a big family who LOVES me and spoils me rotten - its a pretty nice gig.

Momma is off to Texas tomorrow to see some college friends, so I might not post until she gets back. We're a tag team - she types as I dictate. Have fun, Mom!

Water Baby

Today was a big day. I learned how to swim. (Well, not exactly...but I learned to splash while mommy holds me). Today it was 95 degrees out so the swimming pool heated up enough for mommy to feel comfortable taking me in, so we took the plunge! With grandpa Bill and grandma Kay cheering me on from the side, I went swimming for the first time. I did quite well, if I say so myself. I never cried or whimpered, and after a couple minutes of careful exploration, I had quite a fun time splashing with my arms and legs. I predict I'll spend alot of time in the pool before the summer is over.
