Leafy

This leaf kept me entertained for a good while one day on the beach... That is, before I fell asleep in our beachside cabana.

Bathtime

Baths in Hawaii are different. First of all, when I'm done the tub is all full of sand!!! But most importantly, on vacation I got to take baths with my buddy Emery. I even got to teach Emery all about fish (or as I collectively call them, "Nemo") on a beach ball. So much more fun than taking a bath alone!

Playground

With the time change in Hawaii (4 hours), I woke up every morning very early, often before the sun rose. Daddy helped pass the early morning hours by taking me out to the hotel playground. Give me a slide and some stairs, and I'm a happy girl!

Water Lover

Hawaii was the best because, besides naptime, I basically spent every minute of the day in the water. Be it the ocean or the pool, I loved swimming. In the pool, I really perfected my use of my floatie ring. I figured out how to spin and practically made myself dizzy doing that. Luckily I also learned how to relax and float. Check out the video mommy took of me!

Cute Suit

Check out this cute swimsuit I wore in Hawaii. My Nana K got it for me almost 6 months ago, but I didn't fit into it until now. I think ruffles look good on me :)

Sand (Wo)Man

I LOVE building sandcastles. Except the part where I get tired and try to rub my eyes with sandy hands... that's not so fun.

So Much to Tell You, So Little Time!

Aloha

Aloha from Hawaii! I'm having so much fun here! First of all, its sooo pretty here and our resort is sooo cool! Mommy, daddy, me and our friends Jay, Alison and baby Emery are staying in a two bedroom condo here. We have our own bedrooms, bathrooms, and even a kitchen and living room. Mommy and daddy tell me that this place is bigger than their first condo when they got married.

There are 3 pools here, even a sandy bottom pool! There is a playground, lots of green space to run around in, and a HUGE pond with so many big goldfish in them (daddy calls them "koi"). But the best part is that our hotel has 3 different lagoons off the ocean, so I have my choice of beautiful bays to play around in, and there are no scary waves or danger. I get to run around, swim, and see the fish swimming in the water. Very cool.

My only complaint so far has been the 4 hour time change from home. Its hard for a baby like me to adjust like that! So far I've woken up at 3am, 5am and 5:30am. Mommy and daddy don't like being up several hours before sunrise, but at least Baby Emery is doing the same thing so we have a big ol' party in our condo.

The BEST Baby

Well, its official. I've just been named the Best Baby in the World. Yes, mommy and daddy gave me this title so they are a bit biased, but I'm still proud of myself. What earned me this distinctive honor? I rode 7 hours on an airplane to Hawaii and was nearly PERFECT! I took a two hour nap on the floor of the airplane, then woke up and read books, did arts & crafts, played with toys for the next 3 hours, and spent the last 2hours watching Elmo on my portable DVD player. Even though I was stuck in the same spot nearly the whole time, I never put up a fuss. Even the other people on the plane remarked at what a great baby I was.

Mommy and daddy were so surprised. They even gave each other a high-five when the flight was over for how well it went. Me? I knew I could do it!

From One Vacation to the Next...

Well these are the last pictures from Door County that I'll share with you. Nana made me this special "Kamp Kubik" tshirt and we took some pictures out on the back deck to preserve some memories from my first (of many) trip up Kamp Kubik.

Today I'm on my way with mommy and daddy to Hawaii. We are flying 7 1/2 hours to get there, but I'm super excited to do another "first" - spend time on a beach! Of course mommy had to wait until she was 24 years old to see Hawaii for the first time - I'm doing it at 19 months old! Just goes to show that my life is wayyyyy more adventurous and cool than my parents!

I'll try to check in from Hawaii, but in the meantime, keep yourself entertained by checking out the NEW pictures from this summer (link is on the right). Trust me, there are some good ones!

PS - Mommy wanted me to ask you to pray for her and daddy. They are pretty anxious about taking me on this long of a flight (I tend to dislike sitting still) - and are hoping you'll send positive vibes our way!

Golf Carts = Very Cool

At Kamp Kubik, Nana and Papa have this really cool golf cart so they can get around the property. It is like a normal golf cart but it has these big all-terrain wheels on it. Very cool. I spent alot of time riding in the cart when I was there - and the best part is, I dont even have to be in a carseat!

Ahoy!

A week later and I'm still talking about my trip to Door County... That's how much fun I had!

I got to go on my first ever boat ride! It was super fun. We were on the big Lake Michigan for about 4 hours. I got to read books with Nana, steer the boat with Uncle Jo, and have a yummy lunch. The best part? Tossing bread over the side of boat with daddy and watching the seagulls come down and eat it. I had so much fun that I passed out on the ride back to shore. I sure did love my time on the boat!

A Walk on the Wild Side

So I got to go to a petting zoo for the 3rd time in my life, but this one in Door County was WAY cool. I got to feed the animals with corn and also bottles of milk. I had SO much fun. Mommy and daddy also milked a goat for the first time, but they won't let me post the pictures of that... but you can probably guess what look was on my daddy's face.

Car Rides

I counted it all up, and I think I spent a total of 13 hours in the car last weekend to get to and from Nana and Papa's house in Door County. Thankfully mommy and daddy kept me pretty entertained with books and a portable dvd player, so I got to see Elmo! And of course, falling asleep helps pass the time.

Sleepyhead

My trip to Wisconsin last week started with a long airplane ride. Thankfully I'm so comfortable on airplanes (I've probably flown 20 round-trips in my short life) that I can take naps on mommy if the flight is long enough. Unfortunately, my naps tend to damage my perfect hair. I can look a bit...well...scattered when I wake up.

I'm also good at waiting... Waiting in line to check in, waiting in security lines, waiting to board the plane, waiting to take off, waiting for our bags, waiting for our rental cars.... you get the point.

Holding on for dear life

I'm still holding on to summertime... Here's a few shots from my time at the park in Denver last week.

School Is In Session

When I was in Denver last week, I went to Euclid Middle School which is where my Grandma Mary teaches. I swear, visiting Grandma Mary or Aunt Maggie at their schools is one of my favorite things to do. I LOVE looking at all the older kids, and they are always so sweet to play with me. Mommy thinks that my school days are far away, but everyone keeps telling her that they'll be here before she knows it. Personally, I can't wait! I think I already look the part :)
